A festival in Kingston will celebrate dance and film with hundreds of screenings, family activities, free events and workshops.
The first ever Frame Dance Film Festival is being presented the dance company BalletBoyz, who are also based in the town, and takes place from June 9 to 12.
Deadpool actor Kyle Rideout’s directorial debut Eadweard marks the opening night and the start of a programme of 122 films shown around town – including 11 World, eight international, four European and 28 UK premieres.
Family favourites in the line-up include Happy Feet and Beauty and the Beast.
Cabinet of Living Cinema will perform live alongside some of the films while other events include the mobile Big Dance Bus, lots of dance performances and a talk from filmmakers The Chemical Brothers.
For aspiring dancers and filmmakers there is a full programme of industry talks and events such as ‘the art of pitching’, speed networking, and ‘dancer career development’.
