A man accused of murdering of Tooting pensioner Peter Lee has been found not guilty of murder on the direction of the judge overseeing his trial.
Stuart Palmer, 29, of Kew Bridge Road, Brentford, was found not guilty of murdering 75-year-old Peter Lee on the directions of the judge John Bevan QC during the Old Bailey trial on Wednesday, May 25.
Mr Palmer and his half-brother Jason Lewin, 34, of Glenthorpe Road, Morden, were standing trial for aggravated burglary and murder.
Mr Lee died outside his home in Welham Road, Tooting, on June 2 2015, after being struck by a car driven by Palmer’s brother Jonathan Palmer. Jonathan Palmer, 30, of Green Wrythe Lane, Carshalton, later died in prison while awaiting trial.
Mr Lewin is still being tried for murder and aggravated burglary, and Mr Palmer still faces charges of aggravated burglary.
