WHY is it when you finally get on top of all the paperwork and other jobs at home, the pile only seems to come back with more of a vengeance?
It’s relentless. We all have to keep abreast of our day-to-day business; otherwise life would just crumble around us.
This includes me too. Contrary to popular belief, I don’t have a team of staff who cater to my every whim and need.
Oh no! I always seem to be going through emails and sorting ‘bits’ out.
And that doesn’t include all the time I waste actually chasing other people so I can get on and tick things off my checklist. It’s so frustrating.
Well this week was all about getting on top of things, even though there seemed to be so much going on in the outside world causing a distraction or maybe just a slight worry.
Whether it was the tax disc that needing paying, forms to be delivered to school or contracts posted off, there was no time to delay – they needed to get sorted.
This was much to the annoyance of my other half, who seems to resent the fact that he may have to miss watching his beloved Game of Thrones to help me out. He doesn’t seem to understand there is no let up and it is what it is.
The other day I looked out of the window and saw the same people heading to work. They wake up, get dressed and do the same routine every day.
Maybe they feel like it’s groundhog day, maybe they don’t, but it’s part of their daily routine and something that needs to be done.
I guess we have to accept that most of the things we do can become repetitive and before you know it another week, month or year has passed. We often spend so much time going through the motions; we forget to actually live! So let’s take time to step back, and enjoy.
