Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has been handed a double injury headache ahead of the Premier League resumption.
Both Yohan Cabaye and James McArthur have withdrawn from the French and Scottish squads respectively with injuries.
Cabaye will miss his country's friendly clash with Italy tonight or their World Cup qualifier against Belarus.
The Eagles have confirmed that the midfielder has been struggling with a groin injury.
McArthur has been on the treatment table for much of the year with a knee injury, and he has had to leave his Scottish compatriots with the same problem.
Time is on Pardew's side as Palace are not in action again until September 10 when they go to Middlesbrough.
