A mixed martial arts world champion from Croydon retained his BAMMA welterweight title at the weekend with a first round stoppage in Dublin.
Alex Lohore (14-1) submitted hometown fighter Richard Kiely (2-1) via knee bar at the 3Arena in Dublin on Friday night (November 10).
The New Wave Academy combatant had promised to silence his opponent after insults were traded before the fight.
He told Croydon Guardian beforehand: "This fight will go as it always does. I'm going to teach this boy a lesson and defend my belt."
Earlier in the evening Kiely's teammate Conor McGregor controversially stormed the cage before having altercations with officials on the Bellator / Bamma co-promotion.
