Conservatives have selected a new candidate to compete for the Croydon Central seat at the next election.
Mario Creatura, currently a councillor for Coulsdon Town, was chosen last night as the party's next prospective parliamentarian.
In addition to his role as the Croydon Tories chief whip in town hall, Creatura works at number 10 as a special advisor to Theresa May.
He describes himself as a 'proud Croydonian' who has lived in the borough all his life.
Croydon Central is currently held by Labour MP Sarah Jones, who claimed the seat from high-profile Tory Gavin Barwell in the 2017 snap election.
The next general election will take place in 2022 at the latest.
