A plastic free party bag company based in Croydon has been shortlisted for an ethical business award.
Plastic Free Party Bag are in the running for the first ever Be the Change awards, a brand new social impact prize, celebrating the UK's most ethical and sustainable businesses.
Founder mum-of-one Emmeline Hundleby’s commitment to providing children with fun but sustainable party bags and gifts has been recognised in the Babies and Children’s category.
The winners will be decided on April 26 at The London Museum of Branding.
Emmeline said: “It’s been wonderful to be shortlisted and have our ethics and mission to help kids look after the planet recognised.
"It has felt quite daunting venturing out as a small one-woman business owner trying to do things right by people, animals and the planet in a world of retail giants like Amazon and Tesco.
"To be a part of these awards that celebrate small ethical business and organisations is a huge honour.
Emmeline decided to re-think the party bag and provide parents with an eco-friendly and ethical alternative that kids, parents and the earth will love, avoiding waste
As well as being free from plastic, the party favours are Fairtrade, unisex and vegan friendly.
Be the Change Awards is an initiative by ethical champions Sian Conway, the founder of Ethical Hour, a growing global ethical community of changemakers, and ethical entrepreneur Jo Salter from clothing brand Where Does It Come From?
