Across Croydon nearly two thirds of children starting secondary school were offered a place at their first choice school for this September.
A total of 2,976 pupils were offered a place at their preferred school, equivalent to 63% of children.
And 85% of applicants were offered a place at one of their top three schools.
Figures show that the most popular school was Harris City Academy Crystal Palace which received 1,728 applications for its 180 Year 7 places.
Next on this list was Riddlesdown Collegiate with 1,435 applications for just 328 places.
And coming in third place for this September is brand new Coombe Wood School with 1,203 applications for 180 places.
Councillor Alisa Flemming, cabinet member for children, young people and learning, said: “I’m really pleased that so many pupils have a place at a top preference school this year. I wish all of our young people, all the very best, as they start this exciting stage of their journey.”
