A £25,000 reward is on offer following an attempted bank robbery in Sutton on Thursday afternoon.
Police were called at 2.17pm to reports of an attempted robbery at the Halifax in the High Street.
"It was reported that the suspect was wearing a balaclava and intimated that he had a firearm and attempted to rob the property," a Met Spokesman said.
"He did not take any money and fled from the scene."
No injuries were reported and officers from the Met’s Central Specialist Crime are investigating.
No arrests have been made.
Halifax has confirmed that the Sutton branch is currently closed and the company is helping police with their investigation.
