A MAN has been left fighting for his life after a suspected 'hit and run' in Morden on Thursday ( April 22).
Police were initially called at around 2.30am on Thursday, to reports of a man lying injured next to an e-scooter in Love Lane, near the junction with Green Lane, in Morden.
Officers said they attended and carried out a search of the area, however no victim was located.
At around 1.15pm the same day, police received a call from a person reporting that a male had been admitted to hospital with serious injuries.
Police have confirmed that the victim remains in a critical condition.
Unconfirmed reports circulating on social media have described the incident as a hit and run, but police have not referenced another vehicle or driver being involved at this stage.
A spokesperson for Met Police said: "An investigation is under way to establish how the man came to sustain his injuries.
"Officers would like to hear from anybody with information or dashcam footage from Green Lane at around the time of the incident on Thursday."
