In the heart of Colliers Wood, opposite the underground station, you will find The Charles Holden.
As you walk up to the popular pub, you can see benches placed around the side with joyful pubgoers, who can also be found under a canopy in a separate section.
It has a large beer garden, with more than enough space to adhere to social distancing.
Its decor gives off a warm and cosy atmosphere with sparkling fairy lights and bushes with bright red roses on them.
I visited earlier this week and it was so good that I went back twice - both without a booking.
After going months without seeing my friend who has been working on the frontline at St George's, we searched high and low for a spot to reunite.
The Charles Holden seemed to be the perfect choice as it offered both a booking system and spaces for walk-ins.
The pub offers a selection of tasty food, beverages and the more important feature, outdoor heating.
My first visit to the venue was on Tuesday (May 4) during the afternoon, where we waited mere minutes to be served.
After a friendly greeting from a member of staff, we were asked to book in via the test and trace system before being allocated a seat.
The traditional English pub offers a great selection of alcohol including ales, and wines - which are fairly priced with generous servings.
Time flew by during our visit, due to the quick service, friendly staff, and welcoming environment.
On Thursday (May 6), I revisited with my friend Chloe and her daughter during the evening.
Despite Thursday being known as a busier day of the week, we were able to get in with no waiting time.
I spent a total of £22.45 which consisted of a BBQ beef burger and chips and a double gin and tonic.
Despite, all orders being processed through an app, the chef followed both of our requests carefully and served us our order without gherkins or relish.
The burger was big and juicy, topped with melted cheese, crunchy lettuce, and a brioche bun.
I was really happy with my order and can vouch that the chicken wings are just as good if you can handle a bit of spice.
Between my friend and her daughter - they ordered haddock, chips, a burger, fried baby squid and chicken wings. They were also pleased with their food.
The pub serves food every day from noon to 10 pm. On Saturday's it offers food a little earlier from 10 am.
If you haven't already, I would recommend visiting The Charles Holden.
If you are looking to go on a busier day, I would recommend booking ahead if you would like a seat within the heating area.
