A 19-year-old was arrested and two men put in hospital after an assault at a shop on Thornton Heath High Street on Saturday night (May 8).
Emergency services were called in the moments after 9pm to the scene on the high street on Saturday evening.
They found there two men suffering from injuries that required hospital treatment.
The suspect in the assault, a 19-year-old man, was also detained at the scene.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told the Croydon Guardian:
"Police were called at approximately 21:05hrs on Saturday, 8 May to reports of an assault in High Street, Thornton Heath.
"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found two men – believed aged in their 40s and 60s – suffering injuries. Both have been taken to hospital for treatment – neither man's condition is life threatening.
"A 19-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH - he remains in custody.
"Enquiries into the circumstances continue."
The attack happened just hours after a stabbing at Thornton Heath station.
A 15-year-old boy was hospitalised in that incident, and is expected to recover, while two teenagers aged 16 and 18 were arrested by officers with British Transport Police.
