A man was stabbed and taken to hospital after a reported fight in Hackbridge on Wednesday night (May 12).
The incident happened on Foxglove Way in the moments before 11.27pm when the police and paramedics were called to the scene.
Residents reported seeing a heavy emergency services presence on the road Wednesday night as first responders attended and a cordon was set up.
Responding to a request from the Sutton Guardian, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that a man had been stabbed and another had been arrested.
A spokesperson for the Met said:
"At 23:27hrs on Wednesday, 12 May, police were notified by the London Ambulance Service of a report of a fight in Foxglove Way, Wallington.
"Officers attended with paramedics and found a 44-year-old man who had been stabbed.
"He was taken to a south London hospital where his injuries were assessed as non-life threatening.
"A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of GBH. He has been bailed to return to the police station on a date in early June.
