A man was arrested after taking and posting images of woman at Royal Holloway University in Egham without their consent recently.
Surrey Police said that the 29 year old man from Addlestone was detained after staff and students at Royal Holloway reported a man "photographing young women without their knowledge or consent, and uploading the images to Instagram".
A number of the photographs included captions with "derogatory or insulting" language, and police said the account also made "threats against those who have commented".
The Addlestone man, who is not thought to be a student at the university, was arrested on Sunday, May 30.

He was arrested on suspicion of various charges including "public nuisance and persistently making use of public communication network to cause annoyance / inconvenience / anxiety".
Sergeant Max Ambler said: "Over the past three days we have had a large number of online reports of this activity, and I hope the arrest today reassures the local community that we have taken these reports seriously and acted quickly.
"I am very aware of the impact that this has had on the community at Royal Holloway, with some individuals reporting that they felt unsafe walking around campus.
"I would ask that we be given the time we need to fully investigate these incidents, without the glare of public speculation about who is responsible, in order to give us the best possible chance of attaining a successful prosecution.
"I would also like to thank the many people who reported their concerns about this account to us."
