Police have named the woman who was found fatally stabbed at a home in Cheam on Thursday, May 27.

On Wednesday (June 2) a statement from the Met Police confirmed that the victim was 42-year-old Peninah Kabeba.

As the Sutton Guardian reported previously, police were called around 9.55pm on May 27 to reports of a disturbance at a residential address on Park Road in Cheam.

There they found Peninah suffering from stab wounds, and officers provided first aid before paramedics from London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance arrived.

Sadly despite the efforts of the first responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene at 10.34pm.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of death to be a stab wound to the chest and abdomen.

Her next of kin have been informed.

A 56-year-old man has been charged with her murder. He is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, August 13.
