A woman was rescued by firefighters from her bungalow after a fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday morning (July 4).
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Wallington, Purley, Croydon and Sutton fire stations all raced to attend the blaze, which broke out on Mount Park in Carshalton some time before 1.16am when London Fire Brigade (LFB) were called.
A woman was rescued from the blaze by firefighters.
LFB said she was treated at the scene by paramedics with London Ambulance Service paramedics.
The brigade added that they believed the fire to have been caused by a fault in an extractor fan at the bungalow.
An LFB spokesperson said:
"Part of a semi-detached bungalow was damaged by fire. One woman was treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews after suffering from smoke inhalation.
"The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by an electrical fault in an extractor fan."
