A third teenager has been charged with the murder of Camron Smith in the Shrublands area of Croydon last Thursday (July 1).
The 16-year-old suspect was arrested on Monday and has been charged with murder and robbery, a Met Police spokesperson said today (Wednesday, July 7).
He is the third teenager to have been charged with Camron's murder.
Two other males, aged 15 and 18, were arrested in Brighton and the West Midlands respectively in recent days and charged with murder on Monday.
Both appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday. They are next due to appear at the Central Criminal Court on Thursday, July 8.
As the Croydon Guardian reported, police were called to reports of a stabbing just before 1am last Thursday to reports of a disturbance at a residential address on Bracken Avenue in the Shrublands area.
Camron Smith, 16, was found inside the address, reported to be his family home, suffering from stab wounds and despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead just after 1.30am.
His family is being supported by specialist officers from the Met, whose detectives continue to investigate Camron’s murder and are asking to hear from anyone who has information but has not yet come forward.
