A woman from Surbiton has been given a lengthy jail sentence after being caught burgling a house and fleeing from the scene.
Nadine Steer, of Donald Woods Gardens in Surbiton was sentenced to 185 weeks (three and a half years) at Kingston Crown Court on February 8, 2022.
The 42-year-old was interrupted as she fled from the victim’s home on July 23, 2021, but was shortly after identified by local officers.
She was arrested on September 10, 2021, and then charged by police.
Seer also breached two suspended sentences for theft from a shop.

Kingston Police (@MPSKingston) tweeted: “Nadine Steer, DoB 08/10/1979, of Donald Woods Gardens, Surbiton, has been sentenced to 185 weeks (around 3.5 years) at Kingston Crown Court on the 8th February 2022 after being found guilty of Burglary.
“This is also after breaching two suspended sentences for theft from a shop.
“Steer was interrupted in the victim’s home on July 23, 2021, and fled, but was identified by local officers shortly after.
“Steer was arrested on September 10, 2021, and charged by police.
“Burglary can be a horrible violating crime which leaves victims feeling unsafe in their own home."
