A man has died after being hit by a train at Thornton Heath station.
Emergency services were called to the line at around 6.55pm yesterday (April 9).
An ambulance crew, a medic in a car, an advanced paramedic, and an incident response officer attended the station.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Southwestern rail said that all lines between East Croydon and Streatham were blocked following the incident.
Some lines between East Croydon and Selhurst then reopened shortly after 8.10pm.
Services between the lines then returned to normal at around 3am today (April 13).
The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “ We were called at 6:55pm today (April 12) to reports of an incident at Thornton Heath Railway Station, Thornton Heath.
“We sent an ambulance crew, a medic in a car, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer to the scene.
“Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
A further statement from British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Thornton Heath station at 6.55pm yesterday (12 April) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics also attended and sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
