Croydon Council has issued an update on upcoming council tax rebates.
A spokesperson for the Council said it began issuing the rebates for eligible households who pay via direct debit at the beginning of April.
However, "due to large numbers of households", the payments are staggered through the month and some people will be waiting up to two more weeks.
An online claim form will be launching for those who don't pay by direct debit, according to Croydon Council, as it says these households will be contacted with more details in due course.
Croydon Council is making the payments directly to bank accounts.
The spokesperson reminded residents that the Council will "never telephone residents unannounced to ask for bank details and individuals should stay vigilant of scam approaches.”
