A man with a gold tooth who was wearing a pink shirt and white shoes glassed a reveller at a Staines nightspot.
The incident, which left the 27-year-old victim with three deep cuts to the left side of his face, took place at Que Pasa following a minor verbal arguement on the dance floor.
The offender hit the victim in the side of the face twice with a half pint glass.
The suspect is described as white, with olive skin, between 5ft 10ins and 6ft.
PC Ashley Mullem, who is leading the investigation, said: "This was a particularly nasty incident, where a man on an evening out has been the subject of a violent and cowardly attack.
"His attacker was dressed quite distinctively so I am certain people there on the night would remember him and I would urge those people to contact police as soon as possible."
The incident took place between 12.25am and 12.35am on Sunday, January 27, at the Tillys Lane West bar.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any other information should contact PC Mullem, at Staines CID, on 0845 125 2222, quoting reference A/08/2166.
Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
