A man and three children were rescued from a house fire in Thornton Heath in the early hours of this morning.
They were removed from the Pitt Road home firefighters wearing breathing apparatus after the brigade was called to the blaze at around 12.40am.
The four were all suffering from smoke inhalation and were removed to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.
The fire damaged part of the ground floor and there was heavy smoke throughout the building.
Crews from Norbury fire station attended the fire which was under control by 1.11am. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
