A Spelthorne school has moved out of special measures for the first time in nearly three years, 10 weeks after forming a special link up to help oversee its improvement.
Thomas Knyvett College, in Stanwell Road, Ashford, achieved the feat after reaping the benefits of a partnership with the Howard of Effingham Shool.
This follows an Ofsted inspection in November praising the "outstanding leadership of both the executive headteacher and the head of school" and recognising the school's rapid improvement.
Thomas Knyvett headteacher Nicola Aboud said: "We have achieved so much in such a very short time, but our focus is on the school's long term future and we now have the capacity to sustain these improvements.
"Achievement and standards remain a particular priority for us and we are thrilled our students are beginning to reach their potential."
Pupil attendance and behaviour has improved as students are getting more care, guidance and support.
Executive head of The Howard Partnership Rhona Barnfield said: "I would like to put on record my thanks to our students, parents and staff for their hard work and support over the last few months."
In acknowledging the school's recent progress, Ofsted inspectors referred to the comprehensive programme of professional development for staff and joint leadership meetings with Howard of Effingham.
Thomas Knyvett also gained from the Howard school's expertise as a specialist science college, noting that very good progress was made in the subject and pupils felt "inspired" to take their studies further.
