Epsom police are calling on the public's help to solve a robbery on a 45-year-old man.

The victim had been walking along Downs Road at 6pm on Saturday January 26 when he was approached by two teens.

They tried to stop him and when he resisted they pushed him to the floor.

He hit his head on the pavement a received a small cut.

The two teens then took a white gold ring with four diamonds, worth around £1,000, from the victim's finger and stole £60 in cash.

The victim, who is short sighted, was unable to give a detailed description of his attackers because his glasses were knocked off during the attack.

The first youth is described as white, 5ft 11ins and aged between 15 and 17.

His accomplice is described as about the same age and around 5ft 8ins.

Detective Constable Sarah McCabe, who is leading the investigation, said: "This was a cowardly attack on an innocent victim who has been needlessly injured and lost valuable possessions.

"Someone must know who those responsible are and where they are located and I would urge them to contact Surrey Police and help us track them down."
