1994 - More than 1,000 people trek the 31-mile subterranean Channel Tunnel in a sponsored walk for charity. They are the first people to walk from Britain to France since the Ice Age.
2001 - A picture of Britney Spears' belly button on the Encyclopaedia Britannica website causes internet meltdown when 17 million people try to log on.
2006 - Leo Sayer regains the number one slot after a gap of 29 years. A dance remix of his 1977 flop Thunder in My Heart' reinvents Sayer as a club favourite.
