Parking permits for business owners in Wandsworth have shot up from £250 to £400 this year.
The price hike is set to cause outrage among traders across the borough when they renew their permits.
Wandsworth Council has upped the cost by 80 per cent. A spokesman this week said it was "good value for money".
Eddie Murphy, owner of TC Television in Garratt Lane, said: "It is a total rip-off. I find it totally outrageous they could put something up by nearly £200 in a year. I'm surprised the whole borough isn't out in arms over it."
Mr Murphy offers a collection service for his TV repair shop, and needs to be able to park his liveried vehicle all over the borough. When he went to renew his all zone permit he was so surprised he called the council and said it had made a mistake.
Mr Murphy, who lives in Mitcham, said: "It's getting beyond a joke, with all the other costs increasing as well. It's tough enough as it is. We're not Argos or Dixons. This is squeezing out all the small shops. This is bullying. What's it going to be next year?"
He said he had been hit by more and more administrative costs from the council including a private refuse collection and administrative charges.
A spokesman for Wandsworth Council said: "Wandsworth is one of only a handful of London boroughs that offer local businesses an all zones parking permit, allowing them to significantly reduce their running costs. Most other boroughs only offer a single zone permit, meaning business must pay extra when they travel to a job outside that zone.
"Wandsworth is also the only council in London to offer discounts to businesses that have company logos or liveries on their vehicles. This 25 per cent discount means that liveried vehicles can park anywhere in Wandsworth for an annual fee of £450. This compares to £3,000 in Islington for the same kind of permit, £820 in Sutton and £680 in neighbouring Hammersmith and Fulham.
"We think our charges are very reasonable and offer businesses very good value for money."
