The inquest into the death of the Brazilian shot dead by police at Stockwell Tube station will be held in September.
Jean Charles de Menezes, a 27-year-old electrician, was shot dead by Metropolitan Police officers after being mistaken for a terrorist, in July 2005.
Southwark coroner John Sampson said the inquest, at Southwark Coroner's Court, would begin on September 22 and would last three months.
In 2006, Mr Sampson agreed to delay the inquest until criminal proceedings against Scotland Yard were completed.
The De Menezes family believe an inquest could throw fresh light on how the Brazilian met his death.
