The Twickenham man who created the clockwork radio has invented an environmentally friendly music player.
Trevor Baylis, 70, hopes his Eco Media Player will match the success of his radio, which is now used by millions of people in Africa.
The device, powered by hand, holds up to 500 songs and also acts as a video player, radio, dictaphone, torch and phone charger.
Baylis, whose business Trevor Baylis Brands plc is based in Staines, said: "I hope that this, along with the wind-up radio, will be my legacy.
"In an age when people are increasingly worried about climate change, it's a way of reducing electricity use."
The battery on the Eco Media Player can last for up to 20 hours and a minute of winding produces enough charge for 40 minutes of playback.
The gadget, which sells for around £140, can also be charged using a PC.
