Firefighters remain on the scene of a workshop fire in Wallington but evacuated businesses nearby have been allowed to reopen.
Gym users were briefly trapped inside the Esporta Health and Racquet Club in Hannibal Way as firefighters dealt with the threat from gas cylinders near the blaze shortly before 8am.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said eight fire engines carrying 40 firefighters were called to the blaze at 7.44am.
Finding three gas cylinders inside the workshops, they see up a 200m exclusion zone and evacuated about 100 people as a precaution.
The fire was brought under control just before 3pm and the exclusion zone reduced to directly around the workshops.
The gym reopened soon after.
Firefighters remain on the scene damping down hot spots.
