Walton & Hersham boss Les Cleeveley has targeted maximum points from the Swans' remaining home games as his side look to gatecrash the Ryman Division One South play-off places.

Fellow promotion hopefuls Kingstonian visit on Saturday for a crunch clash, with Walton able to leapfrog their visitors with a win.

But Cleeveley has urged his side to treat the showdown as just another game.

He said: "I know it is a cliché but we really have to take each game as it comes.

"The boys are aware of the league table and they don't need to hear me banging on about it.

"Each home game is a game we have to look to win.

"But if you build a game up too much and something goes wrong, you run the risk of demoralising the players."

The Swans maintained their promotion push with a 2-1 win over visitors Chatham Town on Saturday thanks to goals from Rob George and Julien Thompson.

"It was a very comfortable three points in my opinion," said Cleeveley.

"The disappointing thing was we did not convert all of our chances.

"We probably had about 70 per cent possession and it was only really late in the game that I had any concern."

Cleeveley has been working his side hard in training as Walton attempt to make the most of the games in hand they have on their rivals.

He added: "The players look a lot more comfortable and we are controlling games.

"They are keeping possession well and that is down to hard work on the training pitch."
