Molesey 1 Dover Athletic 4

It was top travelling the long distance to the Moles, who remain firmly rooted to the bottom.

A cold and misty night greeted Dover when they arrived, the Moles hoping to make their journey home long and unpleasant.

The match started off badly and Dover dominated all of the possesion for the opening 20 minutes, but luck appeared to be on the Molesey side.

A rare breakaway attack lead to a shot from the edge of the box which hit Dover defender Laurence Ball and looped over the Dover keeper John Whitehouse.

The surprise goal caught everyone by surprise and most people suddenly started dreaming about the biggest upset of the season and possibly a first home win.

Molesey continued to dominate the first half, until the 35th minute when Dover had two quick chances which required some good stopping.

First, Chico Ramos in the Molesey goal was forced into making a fine athletic save and then Jon Boswell covered the goal brilliantly and got his body on the goal line to keep the ball crossing it.

The second half started with Moles striker Adrian Allen firing wide from distance in front of an open goal.

Then came the turning point in the game. Lee Browning and Rob Wilkinson got sent off for a scuffle in the 55th minute.

This affected the Moles more than the travelling Dover side because Wilkinson had been dominating the centre of midfield making it impossible for Dover to get through.

Molesey's fragile lead came crashing down in the 58th minute.

Alan Pouton picked up the ball 20 yards out and cracked his shot right into the bottom of the goal.

This sparked a Dover surge and, just 16 minutes later, James Dryden scored from a similar position to Dovers first goal.

Just four minutes later Dover added another goal when the Moles were left badly static from a corner and James Dryden was left with a free header.

Then just two minutes before full time James Dryden finished his hat-trick with a perfect finish from just inside the box.
