Not content with slagging off Staines an advertising boss now wants to poach its most infamous resident' Ali G.
Bill Muirhead of advertising firm M & C Saatchi provoked anger with the slogan "Screw working in Staines" for a campaign to encourage workers to move to Oz.
The company has also reportedly approached actor Sacha Baron Cohen in the hope of convincing him to revive his Ali G character for their TV and cinema ads.
In an email to Cohen's representatives Muirhead criticises "dreary, boring places like Bromley, Croydon, Slough and Staines".
The London-based exec wrote: "There is a skills shortage in over 65 different categories and professions. In short, we are looking for lots of migrants and tourists.
"I understand you represent Sacha Baron Cohen and we would be very keen to talk to you about his character Ali G. We have an idea for a TV and cinema commercial which takes a cheeky dig at some of the less attractive features of life in the UK.
"Things like housing prices, traffic congestion and dreary, boring places like Bromley, Croydon, Slough and Staines.
"We would like to use the Ali G character to front the campaign to represent the core values of the town of his birth."
Sacha Baron Cohen has previously said both his Ali G and Borat characters would be retired.
