Notice of publication of the Croydon Metropolitan Centre Area Action Plan Issues & Options Report, 18th February, a Development Plan Document, is given under Regulation 12 and 13 of The Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations 2004

The London Borough of Croydon has published an Issues & Options Report to be used for the production of the Croydon Metropolitan Centre Area Action Plan, a Development Plan Document (DPD).

The Issues and Options Report is available for any interested parties to make comments on. Please note this document is not the Area Action Plan per se but a precursor to it.

The Issues and Options Report identifies the issues, needs and constraints affecting the Croydon Metropolitan Centre. The report relates to all other relevant plans and strategies; It will begin to develop the Vision, Objectives and Overall Strategy; Generating Options for the policies and proposals for the plan; Outlining implementation and monitoring measures. The Issues and Options Report is a summary of the planning and development issues affecting the area which need to be addressed and first ideas about some of the options for tackling those issues in a planning document. This document is not the AAP itself but informs its preparation. The Issues and Options Report also provides first ideas about the Council's Vision for the Croydon Metropolitan Centre and therefore its spatial planning objectives. The Issues and Options Report can also provide first ideas about the strategy or strategies to be adopted for delivering the Vision and achieving the Objectives

The Issues & Options Report can be viewed on the Council's website at the following link:www.croydon.gov.uk/publicconsultation and at the One Stop Reception in Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon. The Offices are open Monday to Friday from 8.30 - 4.45pm. A copy can also be viewed at the Central Library during normal library opening hours. It is also available on request from the Council on 0208 4071385. All comments are welcomed and can be submitted electronically on the Council's website or returned by any method as indicated below. The period during which comments can be made on the Scoping Report will be 6 weeks beginning 18th February 2008 to 31st March 2008.
