Metropolitan Police striker Craig Carley has insisted his side are the team to beat as the Blues continue their march to the Ryman Division One South play-offs.

Carley struck twice in Saturday's vital 2-1 win at Worthing to stretch their winning streak to three games.

He said: "The camp is absolutely buzzing at the moment.

"We honestly don't think we can lose any game we play.

"If we can keep winning and keep putting the pressure on the top two, then anything could happen.

"But the play-offs are a minimum requirement for us.

"We feel that in a one-off situation like the play-offs, we would win."

Saturday's win over fellow play-off hopefuls Worthing saw the Met maintain their grip on third place.

And Carley admitted that despite his two-goal haul, he was disappointed not to have bagged more.

He added: "To be honest, I had a lot of chances and could have scored six or seven.

"But we were comfortable. We defended really well and never looked like getting anything other than a win.

"It was a great all-round performance and the boss was really pleased."

The Blues should extend their streak to four wins on Saturday as relegation-haunted Horsham YMCA are the visitors.

And Carley admitted it is vital to keep the run going.

He added: "We really need three points against Horsham because we have a hard run of games coming up after that.

"There are plenty of teams still in the mix but we are feeling very confident.

"Before the season we were looking at the play-offs and the run we are on now that is what everyone is looking ahead to."
