Police have named the man found stabbed dead in a Wandsworth street.
Steven Bates, 36, was found collapsed in Tennyson Street just before midnight on Thursday, January 14.
While police initially treated his death as a hit-and-run accident, a postmortem examination at St George's Hospital, Tooting, showed he suffered a stab wound to the neck as well as injuries from being hit by a vehicle.
Detective Chief Inspector Will O'Reilly from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command appealed for information from anyone in Tennyson Street late Thursday or early Friday morning.
He said detectives were particularly trying to trace a dark-coloured four-wheel drive believed to be involved in the crash.
"Tennyson Street is close to several pubs and at that time of the attack people would have been leaving to make their way home," D Chief Insp O'Reilly said.
"I would ask anyone who has seen the incident or seen a dark coloured 4x4 vehicle in the area to call police."
Anyone with information should call the incident room on 020 8721 4905 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
