Heathrow expansion opponents want flight path residents to text "no" to plans for extra flights.
The "Just Text No" message is backed by borough councils including Wandsworth, Hounslow and Richmond opposed to proposals to expand Heathrow to handle an extra 222,000 flights a year.
Expansion opponents are being urged to send a free text to 80800 and to join a rally at Westminster Hall on February 25.
Speaking on behalf of the borough coalition, Wandsworth Council leader Edward Lister said residents feared there was no limit on the size of Heathrow.
"This is one expansion too far," Coun Lister said.
"They might have got away with it in the past but people today are much more protective of their quality of life.
"This is a great way to get our message across.
"Concern about the wider impacts of expansion is spreading across London."
The Department for Transport expansion public consultation runs until February 27.
