Flights from Heathrow airport are being disrupted due to foggy conditions and a baggage handling problem at Terminal 4.
Weather conditions have so far caused the cancellation of 96 flights and customers are advised to check with their operator before travelling.
BA, the main airline based at Terminal 4, is warning customers they may not be able to travel if they have luggage to be checked in because of software problem.
Longhaul passengers in the economy and premier economy cabins as well as all transfer passengers are advised not to bring luggage to check in.
Passengers who do bring baggage to be checked in will not be able to travel.
Passengers in club world and first class and transfer passengers flying from Terminals 1, 2, or 3 are not affected.
A BA spokesman said: "Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 experienced a major baggage system failure on Tuesday, February 19.
"This failure is affecting all airlines operating from the terminal. British Airways would like to apologise to its customers for the disruption He added: "Fog around the London Heathrow area is likely to cause flight delays and cancellations today."
Airport operator BAA said every effort is being made to rectify the problem.
