A 13-year-old girl has died after being found unresponsive in a road in Sutton.
At 12.56am on Friday, police were called to the unresponsive teen in Brighton Road.
Ambulance crews also attended and provided first aid.
The girl was taken to hospital and died a short time later.
Her death is being treated as unexpcted and police are working to establish the circumstances.
A post-mortem examination will also be arranged.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 00:56hrs on Friday, 29 July to reports of a teenager found unresponsive in Brighton Road, Sutton.
"Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service. Emergency services provided first aid to a 13-year-old girl who was taken to hospital.
"Despite their efforts, she died a short time later.
"Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
"The death is being treated as unexpected and further enquiries are taking place to establish the circumstances.
"A post-mortem examination will be arranged."
