A MAN in his 40s has died after being found unresponsive in South Norwood.
Police were called to Station Road at 5.34am today after concerns were raised for the welfare of a person.
London Ambulance Service crews also attended.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death is being treated as unexpected and is currently under investigation.
Officers say a special post-mortem will take place in due course.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 and quote reference 1586/07AUG.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “At 05:34hrs on Sunday, 7 August police were called to Station Road, South Norwood after concerns were raised for the wellbeing of a person who had been found unresponsive.
“Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service.
“A man, believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His death is being treated as unexpected and is under investigation. A special post mortem will take place in due course.
“Anyone who was in the area in the early hours of Sunday morning and who witnessed anything unusual or otherwise related to this incident should call 101, providing the reference 1586/07AUG.”
