TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER UNISON TRADE UNION PROCESSION
1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate the staging of the above-mentioned procession on the 26 April 2008 they intend to make a Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily close to vehicular traffic except for vehicles participating in the procession, those lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this Notice, and only whilst the procession is in the vicinity of those streets.
2. The provisions of the Order will not prevent access being maintained for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which this Order relates, or to any other premises accessible from, and only from, such a road.
3. Nothing in the Order shall apply: a) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; b) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
4. The Order will come into effect on 26 April 2008 and will remain in force for one day, however it is anticipated that the procession will take approximately 3 hours and the prohibition on traffic will only be enforced until normal traffic flow can be maintained.
5. A copy of the Order (and of all related Orders), of the Council's Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order and of a map indicating the lengths of road to which the Order relates can be inspected until the expiration of a period of 14 days from the date on which this Notice is published during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the "One Stop Facility", Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey.

Any representations concerning the proposed Order should be made in writing to the Order Making Section, Parking Services, Croydon Council, 9th Floor, South West Side, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, CR9 1EN quoting the reference EC&PP/PS/JH/14/UP within the afore-mentioned period of 14 days.
