The jury in the case of a former wheelclamper accused of murdering two women have been sent home for the weekend after failing to reach a verdict.

Earlier today, the Old Bailey judge told the jury it can reach a majority verdict, following five days of deliberations.

Levi Bellfield, 39, of West Drayton, denies murdering French student Amelie Delagrange on Twickenham Green in August 2004 and Marsha McDonnell in Hampton in 2003.

He also denies two charges of attempted murder plus counts of false imprisonment and kidnap.

The seven women and five men were told to be back at The Old Bailey Monday morning when they will continue their discussions.
