A man has been charged over an arson attack in which a fire was lit on a train seat a few feet away from a child's pushchair.
Carlos Manuel DeSousa Serrano, 21, of Surbiton was charged yesterday with arson with intent to endanger life.
He has been bailed, with restrictions, to appear in court in March. The restrictions include being barred from travelling on the train system in the UK.
The charges stem from an incident on a South West Trains service from Waterloo to Woking on May 2 last year.
DC Michael Stephenson, of the British Transport Police, said the incident was captured on CCTV.
DeSousa Serrano was bailed to appear before the City of Westminster Magistrates Court on March 4.
