Walton Casuals boss Luke Dowling has vowed to stop tinkering with his side's formation after the Stags were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Corinthian Casuals on Saturday.
Dowling switched from the 4-3-3 that had served them so well in recent weeks to adopt a 4-4-2 system which failed to produce dividends.
And the Stags boss admitted he made a poor decision.
Dowling said: "I hold my hands up - I picked the wrong side and the wrong system.
"The disappointing thing was we didn't really create any chances.
"We had been on a good run lately and I will be going back to 4-3-3, that's for sure."
The point moved Casuals 13 points clear of the Ryman Division One South drop zone.
But with Saturday's trip to Chatham Town, and a Ryman League Cup semi-final looming on the horizon, Dowling insists his side have plenty to play for.
He added: "We must keep the players on their toes and keep them motivated.
"We are still in the cup and players are fighting for their places. Everybody wants to be involved."
