MP Ed Davey was sent out of the Commons yesterday following protests during an EU debate.
The Kingston and Surbiton MP - who is also the Liberal Democrats foreign affairs spokesman - was ordered out of the chamber by the Deputy Speaker Michael Lord.
Mr Davey had repeatedly complained his party's calls for a referendum on Britain's membership of the EU had not been picked for debate.
"We need to know when we will debate this issue. It's a debate the British people want," Mr Davey said.
At first the Deputy Speaker warned the MP - who had claimed he was being gagged - saying: "The outrage to the house is in danger of being the honourable member's attitude to the chair."
When Mr Davey refused to sit down to allow a debate to start he was ordered out of the chamber.
A number of other Lib Dems including party leader Nick Clegg walked out in support of their colleague.
Mr Davey will be allowed back into the chamber today.
