The body found floating in the Thames by schoolchildren has been identified as that of a man nicknamed Santa who went missing on Christmas Eve.
Youngsters at St James' School in Twickenham made the grim discovery during their lunch break last Wednesday. A postmortem examination has confirmed the corpse was that of Clive Anthony Blount, who was known as Tony.
The 69-year-old, a gardener originally from Hampton Wick who had moved to Kingston, was last seen on Christmas Eve in The Ram pub, Kingston, and reported missing soon after.
