A Sutton boy who has waited four years to celebrate his first birthday is now set to enjoy two.
Bradley George Owen Manning was born on February 29, 2004, at St Helier Hospital, Carshalton. As a leap year baby he has never been able to celebrate his real birth date, until now.
"We just settled on celebrating his birthday on February 28," mum Loraine Manning, said. "We did explain, but I think it is difficult for children to understand sometimes.
"When this year came we said he could enjoy his birthday on the real day, but he said it was better if he had two."
Extending birthday celebrations even further the whole family, including dad Ian, 42, and sisters Louise, 15, and Haley, 12, enjoyed a trip away last week.
"He is just such a little angel," Lorraine, 40, added.
"He had to go into hospital recently for treatment on his ears but he just bounced right back. He has developed such a lovely nature and is a true pleasure to have."
