Cheam ward residents are due at the ballot box today to cast their vote for a new councillor.
A byelection was called after former Conservative councillor Eleanor Pinfold was disqualified by councillors' watchdog the Standards Board.
There are four hopefuls standing for election.
Jonathan Pritchard is the Conservative party's replacement for Miss Pinfold. He is an IT consultant who has lived in Cheam for 27 years and hopes to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour if elected.
The Liberal Democrat candidate is Wendy Mathys a legal advisor to the voluntary sector who also lives in Cheam. She hopes to protect Cheam Village, to tackle parking problems and antisocial behaviour.
UKIP candidate Frank Dayis an accountant who has lived in the borough for more than 30 years. He is calling for a zero tolerance approach to petty, juvenile crime.
Labour hopeful Kathy Allen has pledged to fight for Sutton residents who use Epsom Hospital.
