Deen City Farm looks set to become a green city farm with the installation of renewable energy schemes.
Planning permission has been given for the urban farm in Windsor Avenue to be equipped with photovoltaic panels, a biomass boiler and wind turbine.
Project manager Ben Cheetham said: "Any technology installed is likely to reduce our utility bills. The scheme also has potential learning opportunities, and it fits in with our existing green ethos."
The farm is working on the project with Creative Environmental Networks (CEN), and has secured funding from the Low Carbon Buildings Programme, EDF Energy and Merton Council.
