Police have been given more time to question three men, including one from Mitcham, arrested last week in connection with the Sri Lankan Tamil Tigers terror group.
Magistrates yesterday issued an order giving officers until next Tuesday to continue questioning the 33-year-old from Mitcham.
He is being questioned along with two others arrested in Wales during early morning raids last week.
All three are being held by police at a central London station on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
A Met Police spokesman said the arrests were part of a long-term investigation into the alleged funding and procurement activity in support of terrorism overseas and follow charges against two Norbury and South Croydon men last year.
One was charged with arranging meetings to support the Tamil Tigers, including one in Hyde Park in 2006, receiving £1,500 for the group and possessing weapons manuals and body armour for the group.
Earlier today a 51-year-old man was arrested under the Terrorism Act 2000 at an address in Swindon on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism and is now in custody at a central London police station.
