A serial arsonist from Wandsworth is facing jail after setting fire to the Savoy Hotel with actor Martin Clunes inside.
The Doc Martin and Men Behaving Badly star, along with scores of other guests, had to be evacuated from the famous hotel after 42-year-old Anthony Maccini started the blaze, Southwark Crown Court heard yesterday.
Maccini used wire wool, cotton wool and superglue to damage sheets in a linen closet and had attacked the National Theatre on London;s Southbank just moments before.
He previously admitted arson "being reckless as to whether life was endangered" and one count of attempted arson
